WTN: 2004 Clos des Brusquieres CdP

2004 Clos des Brusquieres Chateauneuf-du-Pape: 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 10% Mourvedre. 14.5% alcohol. $26.99 (USD).

This CdP was a deep red/purple color. It had a very fruity nose, lots of blackberry with a spicy note, maybe black pepper and ginger. The palate was very earthy with lots of herbal/underbrush flavors. Also, hints of blackberry and black currant. The tannins were very tight. I feel it would benefit from storage for several more years.

I've not had the wine, but interesting call on the ginger. Not a descriptor I think to use, but on reading your note I realize I've had it in wines and not thought to use that term--this week's Musars, in fact, both had something of that element. Good note.

Thanks guys...you are too kind! Still have trouble picking out individual flavors and smells, but I am trying. Thanks for the encouragement!
