WTN: 2006 Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc

2006 Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc

Color: Light straw

Nose: Pronounced nose of citrus, hay, and good ol’ cat pee.

Taste: Silky texture. Concentrated citrus, lots of grapefruit and a crisp minerality. Enough vegetal character to make it interesting without overwhelming the fruit. Long dry finish. Probably the most powerful of the Crawford SB’s I have tasted. Definitely a good wine that I can recommend. I would like to taste it side by side with the ’00, my favorite Crawford vintage to date.

Bob,

I haven't seen the '06. If memory serves, I tasted their '04, but I can't find a note.

You know...you just can't judge personal tastes. This wine is a constant ..well, not argument...but certainly a difference of opinion between my wife and I.

I prefer the more citrus driven 2005 vintage (though that vintage is on the downhill). Dina much prefers the 2006 with it green pepper and boxwood (cat urine) qualities at the forefront.

Go figure,

Richard

So pour the `05 into a bottle of say Cloudy Bay and post Dina`s reaction!!!
