2007 Vollenweider Wolfer Goldgrube Riesling Spätlese - Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer (12/28/2017)
It had been several years since I last had a bottle of this. In 2013 I was not impressed. Whether that was a bad bottle, or four years created magic I am not sure, but tonight’s bottle was utterly spellbinding. Richly fruity, with ample, integrated acidity, and deep, salty minerality, there was not an atom out of place. There’s not much else to say other than it was as close to perfect as can be.
