Quite a few interesting discussions here in the past about this fine region. Fox Run can be tracked down in my area and I have posted on Riesling/Cab France/Lemberger in the past here.
2012 Fox Run Cabernet Franc, Finger Lakes NY.
Cellared 3 yrs, well soaked cork, 12.5% alc, $28 Cdn. Opened one hour, did decant half the bottle.
Light ruby in color, slight sign of bricking on the rim. Very interesting nose here with cherry, raspberry, some floral. Over time some spice, earthy, hint of green peppers?
Initial entry thought was ripe-ish now, medium-bodied, soft tannins. Lovely fruit concentration, bold and fruity..."hint of green peppers, ripe, spice" from across the table. There is also some herbal content in the background. Very nice, going to buy some 2015 right now!
