WTN: Doisy Dean

2001 Château Doisy-Védrines - France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Sauternes (8/30/2017)
On a lovely plateau, with plenty of spice, honey, ripe fruit and subtle wood accents that make for a delicious drinking experience. It's not a supreme Sauternes, but it is completely satisfying and a screaming deal in dessert wine. Drink now or likely over the next 20 years.

Back in the mid-80's I remember seeing a Doisy Dubroca 1973 IIRC which has either ceased to exist or was added into your Doisy.

Dubroca was bought and reunited with Daene around 2014. They pulled up the vines in 2012 - not sure what the last vintage was.

Doisy Vedrines, the third of the Barsac triplets, continues on as a separate property, and is currently the only one represented in my cellar.

So Daene is no longer made either?

What was Daene and Dubroca now comes out as Daene, so Daene's output is (or will be when new vines come on line, as I believe they have replanted Dubroca) be larger.

thanks for notes, have 4 half bottles in cellar.
2001 is my fave Sauternes/Barsac vintage.
