WTN: Light golden color. Aromas of apples, pears, a touch of cinnamon and cloves, and a bit of riesling petrol. The somewhat shy aroma does not prepare one for the intensity of flavor in the mouth. This is not "oodles of hedonistic fruit". It's refined, cultured intensity. Again, apples and pears dominate, but there's a cascade of other flavor sensations, including dried apricot, cinnamon, cloves, allspice, pineapple. This is a Kabinett, so there's some sweetness there, too, but bracing acidity that keeps the flavors alive and dancing and beautifully balanced. There is a very long, apricot finish.
This is what Rhiengau riesling should be, but so often is not.
Double Curly, with a touch of Moe.
