I was just browsing the Winery To Home website and came across the listing for the 2004 Harbour Estate Baco Noir.
David Lawrason wrote this about it:
"A big, beefy baco with deep colour. Very intense, spicy, slightly skunky tarry nose with ripe mulberry fruit and meaty, bacon bits character. Full bodied, slightly austere with high acid and low tannin. Good power for the money if you are baco fan. Very good length."
Sounds like a visit to the winery is in order - the aromatics here sound right up my alley.
More from the WTH page: "Baco tends to be a very robust and heavy wine, therefore it needs to be pumped over more often, and treated with a little more roughness during the wine making process."
