2004 Françoise Chauvenet Beaujolais A.O.C. Grand Pavois, 12.5% a.b.v., $3.99: This is the second of four bargain basement wines I picked up and this one did not disappoint. I served it a little bit chilled (~ 58º F) to go with our turkey dinner. Bright red in color, just a hint of cherry on the nose, no ghastly oak, light and lively on the tongue, well balanced, with some spritely acids. It was exactly what the doctor ordered and a nice value for the price.
And now what?
