WTN: Birgit Eichinger Grüner Veltliner Hasel 2005

I loved Birgit's Chardonnay earlier this week. Both wines have been very clean and precise. The Grüner Veltliner has intense lime and apple fruit -fuller in body, but not baby-fatty. Lightly steely mineral, subtle white-pepper. The acid is fresh but not bracing, making it a more streamlined and finesse driven wine and a very nice addition to the Grüner Veltliner stable. AND, the best part is the price. ABSOLUTELY STUNNING for $12.
12,5% Alc. -Natural Cork

Prost!
