Las Kuras Vineyard.
Requinoa, Cachapoal Valley, Chile.
Decanted about one hour before dinner.
Very dark purple, bordering on black, in the glass.
Cocoa and lots of spices on the nose.
Incredibly thick, soft and plush in the mouth, plums, black cherry and raspberries, cedar, peppery, rather sweet, tarry. A bit of heat shows up on the finish.
A very impressive wine now (if you like big, showy wines), which will, I think, improve with some short-term cellaring.
