Anyone want corks?

by Jim Grow » Thu Jul 27, 2017 11:29 am

I have 300-500 or more corks I would like to get rid of if someone has a use for them. I'll bring them to MoCool if someone there want them or knows of someone else that would like them.

I made a bulletin board out of some one time, Jim, back in the Dark Ages. They do collect, though, and I've always wondered if there's any really truly good use for them. :)

I've seen people cut them in half vertically and glue the fat sides to the back of their wine cellar door. Some notional additional insulation, plus an interesting thing for a guest to the cellar to peruse.

Another friend has an indoor planter that she uses the corks to mulch. Looks interesting, although I've told her that I think she has a bit too mulch in there...

My last batch of corks I gave to a neighbor lady who has horses. She made a framed picture with the corks cut vertically of a horse head. When I saw it I commented on her artistic abilities but asked what that black plastic cork was doing in the middle. "You idiot, that is his eye!"
