1998 Müller-Catoir Mußbacher Eselshaut Rieslaner Auslese - Germany, Pfalz (6/9/2017)Next to last bottle of this from the cellars of Schloss Bueker, and the wine seems very youthful. It's got that spicy, scratchy, almost feral Rieslaner wildness, as well as very ripe peach, apricot jam richness. Imagine if someone added a dollop of horseradish spiked with Sriracha to the jam! It brings back taste memories from a blind tasting well more than a decade ago. Delicious wine that is oddly static. Time standing still in the bottle.
