1999 Kurt Darting Dürkheimer Steinberg Muskateller Spätlese - Germany, Pfalz (4/16/2017)
Unearthed a bottle of this last week, and figured it was likely about dead. It's certainly different than if was 15 years ago (last time I recall having it), but it's far from gone. Now it is all about richness, with ripe tropical fruit bathing the palate. It shows more of the spicy/horseradish aspect from the eiswein that formed part of the blend. It almost seems like there's a shot of Rieslaner in there. Ultimately it feels like soft vintage beerenauslese, which is not so bad.
