2011 Kurt Darting Ungsteiner Honigsackel Scheurebe Spatlese; what a mouthful, but I opened this Scheurebe, my only one, since recently thinking a lot about my friend John Thrombley. I thought David Bueker might enjoy the note too. What a delight to drink this wine. It was medium+ straw color with a great nose of pineapple and muted citrus with the palate following in a louder way with a slight herbal note too. The acidity was so lovely with that prickly-ness without the tartness that makes it hard not to gulp.
Imported by Skurnik with 9.5% abv I wish Scheurebe was more available in central Ohio.
