WTN: Losen-Bockstanz Riesling BA '06...(short/boring)

by TomHill » Wed Apr 05, 2017 11:59 am

Tried this last week w/ P+F Macarons:
1. Losen-Bockstanz Riesling Beerenauslese (A.P.Nr. 2605017 22 07; 10.5%) Wittlich/Mosel 2006: Deep golden bit browning color; intense botrytis/peachy/apricotty bit earthy/orange peel strong perfumed nose; quite tart/tangy/steely intense botrytis/apricotty/peachy somewhat orangey/candied orange peel/metallic somewhat sweet flavor w/ slight bitterness; very long/lingering quite acid/tart/tangy/metallic very strong botrytis/peachy/apricotty/orange peel slightly bitter finish w/ slight oxidized/cidery character; the high acidity gives it a somewhat sweet/sour/tangy character. $28.00/hlf

1. I bought this wine almost 10 yrs ago because it was pretty cheap for a Mosel BA. Doesn't seem to be evolving that well, though.

Hey Tom, I think I bought a few of those a few years ago and all were quite sound and very enjoyable consumed promptly. Bought at Trader Joe's in Columbus for 20$ IIRC but may have been a different year.
