WTN: Some Broc Cellars Whites

2016 Broc Cellars Sparkling Chenin Blanc. Lodi.

Young wine, but went very well with seared Ahi. Some lovely yeasty notes, a hint-just a hint-of residual sugar. Nice citrus/pear fruit. Lovely wine.

2015 Broc Cellars Chardonnay. Napa Valley from just north of Napa City. His most expensive wine, this is definitely a plush and lovely Chardonnay. All about the lemon. Definitely some oak notes, more than I might normally like, but there is a bracing "grapefruit" acidity on the finish that adds complexity and balance to what is a lovely expression of California Chardonnay!

Love Chris' wines almost universally. Definitely a natural winemaker in the IPOB school, but he sources some lovely fruit to his little Berkeley industrial cellar.

I'm going to miss a Broc tasting in Raleigh this Wednesday because we have our final Lenten book discussion session that evening.

As the resident Misotheist, you do not want to hear MY advice on this, JC!
