WTN: Technicolor Dream Côtes

by David M. Bueker » Wed Mar 15, 2017 7:32 pm

1993 Edmunds St. John Les Côtes Sauvages - USA, California (3/15/2017)
Gentle, wild and changing with every sip, this bottle of '93 Côtes Sauvages lives up to its name. Worn leather, dried cherries, herbs baking under a blistering sun on a dusty trail, all live in the same glass. It's a quiet scene, nothing shouts. It swirls and changes, one minute the leathery fruit in the front, the next herbs and earthy tones. Don't look for power, but rather subtlety and grace. Drink now and soon to get the full picture.

Thanks for the report, David. I bought one of those in Steve's library dump that we'll have in a few weeks.

I ended up with 3, and am very happy about that.

You b#$%ARds :)
I was ordering with friends, got this back "just heard that the ’93 Cotes Sauvages is gone (’94 Mourvèdre as well)"
I did get '94 and '95 CS and am looking forward to them.
Sounds great

That does sounds beautiful, David. Nice!

I'm in your shoes, Dale. Struck out on the '94 mourvedre but did manage to snag a '95 (along with '89, '94, and '95 Cotes and a few other goodies). There are going to be some interesting ESJ WTNs around here.

Don't blame me, I went for Syrahs and Zins. :-)

Steve is going to need to list us all as co-executive producers of his album!

With apologies to the Gibb brothers, maybe we could be credited collectively as the W. L. Dee Gees.
cheers, Patchen
