2013 Limerick Lane Zinfandel Rocky Knoll - USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley (3/14/2017)
I last drank a bottle of this about 8 months ago, and was astonished by the balance in a full-throttle Zinfandel. Well not much has changed. There is still a bunch of ripe red and black fruit, with spice and herb accents and no trace of heat. It is scary drinkable. Yum.

And I thought it would be a Wachau note
Sounds nice, haven't tried Limerick Lane

I have not seen the Knoll wines at retail in ages. If I did see them I would buy them.

They show up in shops around here now and then, but the pricing usually puts me off. About 2 months ago we had the 2012 Ried Kreutles Loibner GV Smaragd and, while it was nice enogh (a bit soft and rich), it didn't really justify the cost, IMO.

Knoll's prices have gone up, but they are in the category "overpriced, and Zachy's more overpriced than anywhere else, but a few times a year Z blows out at great pricing"
Other than some older GVs from Chambers, the only Knolls I have bought in last few years were Zachys sales. $20 for Kabinett/Federspeil, $30-35 for Smaragds.
Abbatucci is similar, regular retail on some bottlings is $70-90, Zachys lists for $100, but then blows out for $33-35
