WTN: Carlisle Syrah SonomaCnty '15...(short/boring)

by TomHill » Mon Mar 13, 2017 10:56 am

Tried this last night w/ my broiled Corizo:
1. Carlisle Syrah SonomaCnty (14.4%; U/U; 355 cs) 2015: Dark color; very strong juicy/blackberry/boysenberry/Syrah/ripe/spicy slight peppery very light toasty/oak quite perfumed nose w/ lots of bass notes; lightly tart/tangy very strong juicy/blackberry/boysenberry/Syrah/fairly ripe light toasty/oak slight spicy/peppery w/ light bit tangy tannins; very long ripe/juicy/Syrah/blackberry/boysenberry light spicy/peppery light toasty/oak lightly tart finish w/ light soft/ripe tannins; some like a Novy w/o the Siduri oak; dominately juicy Syrah fruit and not particularly distinguished but speaks quietly of BennettVlly; an absolutely delicious/drinkable/balanced Syrah at a great price; will benefit from a yr or two of age. $24.75

1. Mike's basic appellation wines continue to be one of the great wine values out there. This Syrah is no exception.
