2014 Division Wine Making Company Temperance Hill Vineyard Pinot Noir "Trois" (Eola-Amity Hills, Oregon)
This wine comes from the "Upper Bench" section of the Temperance Hill Vineyard, fermented in 2 barrels, one neutral and the other one year old. Purity is a tired wine descriptor, but it applies here. The raspberry and red cherry fruit is ripe, there is a fine layer of tannin, and the finish carries the fruit, a dried leaf note and a touch of spice from the barrel treatment. This is well done, drinkable now, and with promise for at least several years of development.
