Tried these two over the last two days:
1. Ridge Mazzoni HomeRanch/SonomaCnty (70% Zin/28% Carignane; 43 brls; 14.3%; Drk: 1/15-1/20-1/21: EB) Cupertino
2013: Med.dark color; light vanilla/Am.oak strong blackberry/raspberry/Zin/fairly spicy light licorice/boysenberry very attractive nose; lightly tart/tangy/grapefruity some vanilla/Am.oak/RidgeOak fairly blackberry/raspberry/Zin/quite spicy some dusty/OV light licorice/pungent flavor w/ light bit tangy/sharp tannins; very long strong raspberry/blackberry/Zin/very spicy strong Am.oak light earthy/dusty/OV finish w/ light sharp tannins; needs a bit of age; a rather classic Ridge Zin but a bit unthrilling & only a small step above the 3Vllys or EastBench. $28.80 (ATP)

Ridge Mazzoni HomeRanch/SonomaCnty (57% Zin/42% Carignane/1% PS; 13.8%; 43 brls; bttld 2/13; Drk: 2/13-2/19-2/21: EB) 2011: Very dark color; strong vanilla/Am.oak very strong raspberry/blackberry/black cherry/Zin/quite spicy fairly dusty/OV complex lovely nose; lightly tart some vanilla/Am.oak/toasty quite spicy blackberry/black cherry/raspberry/Zin rather dusty/OV slight earthy flavor w/ light smooth/ripe/round tannins; very long/lingering smooth/balanced some vanilla/Am.oak strong blackberry/black cherry/raspberry fairly dusty/OV balanced very spicy finish w/ light smooth tannins; has developed very nicely and one step below a mature LyttonSprings; not a profound or distinctive Ridge Zin but just very good drinking. $26.00 (ATP)

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. These are Ridge ATP wines, the '14 just arriving last week. The Mazzoni & Nervo Zins are typically my least favorite of the Ridge ATP's. Nice/pleasant Zins but not particularly distinctive. The '11 is a good example of how these quotidian Zins often evolve in the btl.
