WTN: Bubbles, Quincy, reds

Some old friends were in town from Asheville NC, we went to a dinner welcoming them in Riverdale. With cheeses, tapenade, and dates

NV Le Mesnil Brut Champagne from Rare Wine Company
Classy, elegant medium bodied BdB, pear and bread, good value. B+/B

NV Mionetto Prosecco
Sweeter, apples and mint, a little short B-/C+

With chicken tagine, rice, and Betsy’s spicy Moroccan salad (with cauliflower, nuts, etc)

2001 Finca Museum “Museum Real Reserva” (Cigales)
Red fruited, a little kirsch note, plenty of vanilla, quite popular, a little glossier than I would have liked. B-

2015 Menage a Trois red
Sweet, jammy, wet is it best attribute. C+/C

2015 Villalin Quincy
Pretty grapefruit scented SB, with just a hint of grass and catpee. Quite floral, good acids, a touch of earth, nice finish. Buy more. B++

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C drinkable. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice.Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.

Recent release of the Le Mesnil, or had you cellared it a while?

Recent purchase (fall). When shipping season came RWC offered a few wines at good discounts with free shipping of mixed cases .

Dale, you are an easy grader. I wouldn't give the Menage a Trois anything higher than D-.
