2014 Frog's Leap Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford Napa Valley
The Frog's Leap Cabernet has been around for so long that it has become easy to forget. That's unfortunate, as it remains a solid, well-proportioned Cabernet with ripe red and black fruit framed by the oak spice. It veers a bit towards fruit liqueur in the middle, but gets pulled back by the firm tannins. This stands as a bridge between old-school and modern Napa Cabernet, leaning towards classic.

Is this the "Estate Grown" Rutherford Cab, i.e., the thing they used to just call "Rutherford" until a few years ago?

I like your description of the style. I keep being tempted to drop my club membership (because now that I'm back to serious geekery, I could use the money and the space for other things), but every time I open a bottle, I'm persuaded not to.
cheers, Patchen

You know I am not sure I've ever had this wine (in any vintage).
Will try to keep in mind - sounds like could be a good choice on a steakhouse list.
