Interesting article in WineEnthusiast by SeanSullivan:
TheRocks
about TheRocks in WallaWalla and its success w/ Syrah.
Features a lot about CristopheBaron, of course.

So glad you brought this article to my attention. Trey Busch captured it perfectly with "Well, fruit is like the eighth or ninth adjective when you’re smelling Rocks wines. It’s all savory characteristics. It’s meat and brine and olive and saline and mineral and bacon fat.”

A lot like the Northern Rhone, but underneath those savory aspects is this plush new world fruit. To my palate, the combination is absolute magic. I own quite a bit of Reynvaan as a result (and have been on the waiting list to get on the Cayuse list for like six years and counting.)
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
