Hello - LTNS

by Neil S » Tue Feb 21, 2017 9:42 pm

Hello to current members and to those of you who were around when I was active in the old CompuServe days. Not much has changed, I'm older but no less interested in wine (and cognac for those who have better memories). I hope to participate here from time to time, and it will be a pleasure to make new friends and to reconnect with those who were here in the old days.

Neil

Since I don't know what the topic icons mean yet I'll leave it to one of the SYSOPs to add that for me.

Welcome back, Neil! It's good to see you. Are you still in the Windy City?

Don't worry about the post icons ... they are strictly optional, and most people don't bother with them. If you want to click one to put on top of your post to express a mood, that's fine, but it's just something that came with the forum software that hasn't really caught on. I'll put a green smiley on mine just so you can see how it works.

Hi Robin,
I just posted a description of the champagne tasting I held last December, We talked about it briefly, but I didn't get around to signing on to get the opinions of the group here. I think that the tasting went well and hope it is interesting for people to read about.

Good to be back.

Neil, I too am a CompuServe veteran. I read your champagne post without realizing we were old "friends"! Good to see you.

Hi Jenise,

Yeah it's been quite a while since I was here last. Not much seems to have changed except the vintage of the wines I'm drinking. How have you been?

I'm good, Neil. When we first met I was living in Alaska and rushing headlong into wine as a hobby. I remember feeling like a queen when I amassed about 300 bottles. Now I live in Washington state with seven times that--my problem went from having nothing ready to having too many that need attention. So yes, like you, the average age of the wines I drink has increased. So has the breadth of wines I enjoy. Glad to see you here.
