WTN: 2014 Rhys Bearwallow Chardonnay

by David M. Bueker » Fri Feb 17, 2017 9:12 pm

2014 Rhys Chardonnay Bearwallow Vineyard - USA, California, North Coast, Anderson Valley (2/17/2017)
First time with this wine, and I am not impressed. It is quite fresh and clean, but it has a gaping hole in the mid-palate, and not a lot of substance overall. The word that keeps coming to mind is watery. I am not a fan of big, rich Chardonnay (so it's not a palate bias here) and my comments on the wine are clearly an outlier, so I will try another half bottle sometime soon, and hope for the best.

I'm surprised, the name could have inspired a couple of puns.

I have used most of them for past notes.
