Am I too old to appreciate young Bordeaux?
From beginning I did not like this at all.
With continued airing it started to show some nice fruit, but it was still heavily dominated by young smoky oak.
No rating, to be reviewed later.
2009 Nikolaihof Riesling Steiner Hund (Austria, Wachau)
Quite muted on the nose, just minerality and a shy hint of sweet fruit.
Rather bitter on my palate, nicely tamed by its fruit.
I think this works very well with food. But it's lacking harmony.
I cannot understand the high ratings of certain professional reviewers.
My subjective rating: 89-91/100.
2015 Gut Hermannsberg Rotenberg Riesling Großes Gewächs (Germany, Nahe)
Sublime scent of white blossoms, wisteria and stone exposed to warming sunlight.
The acidity is of incredible subtlety, complexity and vitality.
This wine is a philisophical experience, really hard to describe adequately.
Just close your eyes while you're enjoying it and thinking of its promising future ..
My highly biased, subjective rating: 96+/100.
2006 Pendits Tokaji Aszú Eszencia
High class Tokaji ages at a glacial pace, as David Bueker described it. As a Tokaji lover I should actually know it, it seems I still cannot believe it.

Not surprisingly this wine is unchanged since release: still a big fat baby with gorgeous fruit (peers, pineapple), sublime minerality (reminding of Rheingau and Alsace) and a highly aromatic acidity of laser-like precision. I love it the way it is now. Knowing that I might not live long enough to explore it in full bottle maturity.
My subjective rating: 95+/100.
