WTN: A touch of greatness at sale price

1989 Château Phélan Ségur
Deep red with black reflections, glossy surface - a real treat, just looking at it.
On the nose there is lots of tobacco, Port-like sweetness, sea salt and a fresh, green herbal note.
On the palate there is sumptuous richness wrapped in a wonderful structure that makes you want to take another sip and another ..
The fruit is miraculously fused with delicate dark chocolate, supplemented by tobacco, salt, herbs and white truffle. The finish is remarkable. - If you are lucky enough to catch a perfect bottle like this you get a big Bordeaux experience at a very fair price (below USD 50). My subjective rating of this (outperforming) bottle: 93/100.

Cheers, Rainer
