Victori's Santa Alma & Mistala Rose?

by michael.squitieri » Thu Feb 09, 2017 1:45 pm

I have these 2 dusty bottles my grandmother gave me. 1975 Vina Santa Alma Chilean Riesling and a Mistala Rose. Does anyone know anything about them? I can't find anything online and want to make sure I'm not wasting anything rare or special before I open them. Thanks!!

Both the Riesling and Rose look way too dark to be sound wine. My guess is that they are both over the hill/oxidized/maderized but would have no great value even if sound. Open them up with trepidation but you may be surprised.

Not rare or special--both were slightly sweet made in the style of Mateus and it's ilk. And then, what Jim said. Open 'em!
