2014 Henri Jouan Gevrey-Chambertin Aux Echezeaux - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin (2/1/2017)
Incredibly youthful but showing a haunting aromatic profile, this is about as engaging a young Burgundy I could ask for. Red berry, flowers, perfume and a subtle earthy tone all ride on a lightweight frame that reminds me more than a little bit of the master, Jacky Truchot. There, I said it. There will never be another JT, but this almost scratches that same itch.
