WTN: Everything else that wasn't old or a goat

2014 Savage Grace Wines Chardonnay Celilo Vineyard Columbia Gorge
This chard is really hitting it's stride. Though on purchase 18 months or so ago I didn't think it had baby fat, our trip through this case, in which every bottle is better, firmer and more characterful, proves that it did.

2013 Kelley Fox Wines Pinot Noir Momtazi Vineyard McMinnville
Medium bodied, lithe with good acidity. Classic Kelley in that it's both restrained and a bit chiseled. Very good, with life ahead.

2010 PB Wines (Rasa Vineyards) Cabernet Franc Columbia Valley
Best Washington CF I've had. Black cherry fruit straddles the mid-zone between red and black fruit with good body, en pointe ripeness, light herbal notes and good structure. Should continue to improve. 'Drink latest' date moved out to 2022.

2013 Domaine Besson Chablis Chardonnay
Not as enjoyable as previous bottles; scant mid-palate fruit, parchy. Drink up in 2017.

2010 Domaine de la Colline Saint-Jean Vacqueyras Red Rhone Blend
In a rough patch: shyer with more evident tannins than last bottle two years ago. No mature flavors yet; needs time. Next bottle: 2018.

2012 Pichler-Krutzler Grüner Veltliner Loibner Klostersatz Wachau
Time has been kind: this didn't present the ripeness noted in a bottle one year ago. Just soft pear, canned peas and a complex flinty minerality reminiscent of Chablis now which I'd no doubt have guessed first if served blind. Excellent. Burgundy/pinot glass recommended.

2013 Bevan Cellars Sauvignon Blanc Ritchie Vineyard Russian River Valley
Not for the faint of heart, but what a great experience. Rich, mouth-coating depth and complexity. Pear fruit with guava, meyer lemon, tarragon and just-cut grass.

"Not for the faint of heart, but what a great experience" is pretty much the perfect phrase for all the Bevan wines. There is no reason on Earth a person with my palate should love the wines, but I do.

I'm right there with you on that.
