WTN: Prospect 772 TheBrawler '09...(short/boring)

by TomHill » Fri Jan 27, 2017 11:44 am

Tried this last night w/ my baked cheese:
1. Prospect 772 TheBrawler SierraFoothills/CalaverasCnty (96% Syrah/4% Viognier; www.Prospect772.com; 15.4%)
2009
: Very dark/near black color; very strong blackberry/Syrah/boysenberry/ripe bit peppery/earthy light smokey/toasty/oak quite attractive nose; some tart/tangy strong blackberry/Syrah/boysenberry slight grapefruity rather hard/tannic/rough light toasty/oak flavor w/ ample hard/rough tannins; very long hard/rough/earthy/dusty strong blackberry/Syrah/ripe/boysenberry light peppery light toasty/oak finish w/ lots of hard/rough/gritty tannins; a big/rough/rustic Syrah that speaks of Languedoc or Spain; still needs age but may not outlive the rough/hard tannins; a rather rough/rugged Syrah w/ some very interesting things therein. $36.00 (WoP)

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. This is an effort by RonPieretti and WendySanda, located near Angels Camp in CalaverasCnty. I've known Ron for a fair number of yrs from his days at RosenblumCllrs, back when Rosenblum meant quality. JeffCohn/JCCllrs is also involved in the winemaking.
