WTN: Mystery of everlasting youth

1997 Schloss Lieser Niederberg Helden Riesling Auslese 2 stars
The color is bright yellow, certainly not what you would expect from a 20 year old Botrytis wine.
The reserved, youthful nose is characterized by white flowers, star fruit, mirabelles, honey and herbs (rosemary?).
On the palate, the wine is still primary, sweet, rich, slightly boring. After 2 days of airing, is shows much better harmony and precision with an exciting contrast between seductive tropical fruits (lychee, pineapples) and a racy structure supported by clean Botrytis aromas (coffee, honey) and a mild lime-like acidity. No rush. My subjective rating: 91+/100.
