2001 Dönnhoff Oberhäuser Leistenberg Riesling Kabinett - Germany, Nahe (1/19/2017)We are getting down to my last few bottles from a case of this wine. Only in the last few years has it started to show any hint of maturity. This bottle is hovering between early and full maturity, with still a full ration of fruit, but also creamy, leafy and black tea elements that add so much more to what was already a lovely wine. It took 90 minutes for the wine to really open up and show its stuff, so there is probably still a little more upside for well stored bottles.

Ah but that is the beauty of Donnhoff - even way too young they are gorgeous.
