WTN: NV Taylor Fladgate 20-Year Tawny Porto

20% abv. Nice mid-amber color. Pecan or hazelnut on the nose. Pecan nuts, dried fruit and caramel toffee on the palate. My notes are similar to a previous tasting almost two years ago in which I mentioned that I like this Tawny because it does not come across as very sweet, and I prefer a drier style of Tawny Ports. This has most of what I would seek in an aged Tawny. It would be good with pecan pie, crème brulee, almond tart, etc. I need to restrict my intake of sweets so I sipped it on its own and one evening with a shortbread cookie. It was opened Jan. 2nd and consumed about 2-4 oz. an evening for about a week. I have some 10-year Tawny Port on hand but time to restock on the 20-year Tawnies.

If there is such a thing as a "house Port", the Taylor 20 is ours.

I usually end up with Taylor Fladgate or Cockburn.
