Madonna Estate (Napa)????

by Brian K Miller » Mon Jan 09, 2017 10:44 pm

Anyone familiar with this little family run winery off Highway 12 just outside of Napa on the way to Sonoma?

These are not standard glossy modern Napa wines. The Estate cab (from the edge of Carneros) has a refreshing herbal character-much nicer (imo) than the more well known Truchard wines from nearby. The Rutherford Reserve cab is dusty and true to the area, but still balanced and quite lithe. The Barbera was quite deliciously funky beneath the berry fruit! I like, but your mileage may vary!

Interesting little winery. Not necessarily well-run from a technical side (they never sent me an email when my card on file expired!, and the people working the tasting room had no access to the software) but I like the wines across the board.

I like wineries of that sort.
