Nsw Year's Resolution

by JC (NC) » Sat Jan 07, 2017 8:15 pm

The winter storm event hitting the Southeast led me to cancel plans for dinner in Durham last night (at Nana's, Scott Howell's restaurant and my favorite Durham restaurant), a performance of "An American in Paris" at Durham Performing Arts Center (the DPAC is a beautiful facility) and an overnight at a hotel near Research Triangle Park. Hopefully I can get a ticket to another event at DPAC in compensation for not being able to use my ticket last night. I love Gershwin's music and had looked forward to seeing the dancing. Continued icy conditions led to church services being canceled tomorrow at my church (I was supposed to count money after the service and we were going to take down the greens put up before Christmas.) We also decorated an artificial tree this year with gloves, mittens, scarves and hats which I was going to gather up and donate to Fayetteville Urban Ministry clothing closet. But that gives me another free day to start on my New Year's resolution of decluttering my condo. The decluttering is greatly needed and will also help to accommodate all the wine that came as fall shipments. Looks like I need another New Year's resolution to decrease wine purchases in 2017 and for several years to follow. I won't stop purchasing entirely but need to cut back. Wish me the resolve to carry through on the resolutions.

I'll join that choir but the internet deals are soooo appealing! Of course, if I do the math and I live to be 80.....10 X 365 =3,650-800 (my approx. cellar) = 2850......I can still buy 800 bottles over the next decade and die with no wines in my cellar. Boy, I'm glad I finally got that figured out! I resolve to buy less wine but not a whole lot less!

Good luck!

This snow and ice is annoying though. Especially because in the grand scheme of things it's such a minor weather event. But my dinner plans got cancelled for tomorrow because the host's road has not yet been plowed.
