I don't know much about wine in Texas, but this sounds like trouble for growers in that state:

Eeek. And that's why we don't need an EPA, right? So many ramifications....

It is a valid concern.

And FYI, there's nobody more Partriarch of Texas Wine than Bobby Cox. Good viticulturist, good winemaker, and a true believer in Texas viticulture. He knows whereof he speaks. If he doesn't, he just doesn't speak. Texas thing.

Mind you, this is happening under the current EPA (or whatever agency is responsible for controlling this sort of thing).
