1997 Weingut Robert Weil Riesling Spätlese
Like made for a casting show: attractive on the nose with florality and beautiful contrast between sweetness and acidy. On the palate it is very pretty, but sadly superficial, without depth, without deep roots. Looks like a wine without identity, incomplete, a very noble lemonade for adults? Maybe from an experiment with artificial yeasts during winemaking? I do not understand why this wine is so extremely different from its brother from the 1996 vintage. To me, this cannot be explained by vintage differences. My subjective rating: 89/100.
