Domaine des Baumard 2002 Savennières. Medium yellow, becoming light gold with time in the glass. This was popped and poured after too much chilling, so it took some patience; eventually, it showed a pleasant combination of crisp apple and candle wax, with a touch of spice; but even so, it never overcame a certain hollowness at its center. Might have been the bottle, might have been better to decant it, but this lacked the intensity and depth I associate with this wine at its best.
cheers, Patchen
