Was up in CO last week and shared these three wines:
1. Day Zin SonomaCnty (15.0%) EhrenJordanWineCllrs 2015: Very dark color; strong blackberry/blueberry/Zin/lightly spicy light toasty/oak somewhat earthy/dusty bit closed/tight nose; fairly tart/tangy strong blackberry/blueberry/Zin/lightly spicy bit herbal light toasty/oak rather hard/structured flavor w/ ample hard tannins; very long rather tart big/rich/extracted strong blackberry/blueberry/Zin light oak very structured rather dusty/earthy finish w/ ample hard tannins; not strongly varietal Zin but plenty of strong fruit; very structured and needs much age; does not show any signs of over-ripeness or alcohol; not a lot of obvious OV character; a rather unusual expression of Zin; should develop into something interesting w/ age. $36.00 (BWM)

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. Day: This is the new Zin project of EhrenJordan's. His first Zin since he departed Turley. I was expecting something along the lines of Bedrock or Ravenswood. But it's hard to pigeonhole this wine. It has a ton of structure and reminds me some of the early JoeSwans. Reminds some of Slovene/Italian Terran. The structure suggests it came from Rockpile AVA because of the hardness of the tannins. An unusual/interesting expression of Zin.

2. Lagrein: This btl was a gift to James from a Bavarian friend long ago. It turns out he's related to the owner of this wnry. James stumbled across it in his cellar and thought I might be interested in trying it. It speaks strongly of Lagrein but it's pretty dried-out & tired on the palate. Pretty much gone/gone. Not unpleasant to drink but offers little in the way of pleasure, only intellectual curiosity.

3. Muscat: The WebSite (http://www.vinapoljsak.com) indicates that this is YellowMuscat/MoscatoGialla. This was a dessert wine that the guy at the TIC in Vipava recommended to me as one of the better dessert wines from the VipavaVlly. It was tasty and interesting, but didn't blow me away.
