2008 Von Hovel Riesling Kabinett Scharzhofberg; my last bottle of this and less than 1/2 dozen other German table Rieslings in the cellar. This wine was outstanding with a pale straw color and nose of peach and slight petrol. The palate is all about apricot and peach with some slate and slight citrus in the background. Acidity was fantastic almost prickly, reminding me of other German Rieslings that were indeed slightly sparkling. Sweetness level was more like spatlese to me but perfectly balanced. I bought this at the Party Source in Kentucky a few years ago for the astounding price of $4.00. I should have bought more than a couple but was suspicious. My buddy bought all the store had the next day. I guess the wine wasn't moving because folks thought it was too old. About a dozen tiny tartrate snowballs in bottom! abv of 7.5% and imported by Rudi Wiest, probably many years left on this wine.

Thanks. I have four bottles of this I picked up in Last Bottle a few years ago.
