2010 Domaine de la Presidente Cotes du Rhone...

Grands Classiques. Labeled as 13.5% abv. Family Aubert. Limestone clay soil. This wine reveals dark berries on the nose and palate. It is mellow and inviting. While the label suggests pairing it with barbecue among other things, I think this is mild enough to pair with pork or roast fowl. It was best on the first evening and faded slightly on subsequent evenings. I would rate it in the 86-88 range but would recommend drinking it soon if you own it. (I bought this back in 2012 at Total Wine for $9.99. Quite a bargain as far as QPR!) I looked it up to see if I had already posted this note on WLDG (from my CellarTracker note) and came across a 2012 note on Presidente Cotes du Rhone from Jon Peterson. He called it one of the best $10 wines he had ever had and great value. Once again Jon and I agree on a wine.

I like the Domaine de la Pres wines too.

We rented a gite in the Ventoux several years ago and the owner, a really remarkable lady, informed us a relative was the GM at the Domaine, so she insisted she take us there. This lovely, charming, and sophisticated woman drove her little car like a bat out of hell to the Domaine where, of course, we were treated like royalty. I was quite impressed by the wines, and have been happy sampling them ever since.
