Took this to Thanksgiving dinner and it was heads&shoulders above the other wines the host served:
1. Drew PinotNoir ValentiRanch/MendoRidge (13.2%; www.DrewWines.com) Elk 2014: Med.color; pleasant earthy/bit mushroomy some black cherry/PN light toasty/oak nose; lightly tart slightly sour bit earthy/mushroomy some black cherry/PN light toasty/oak flavor w/ light tangy tannins; long light black cherry/PN light toasty/oak slight earthy finish w/ light gentle tannins; an altogether pleasant Pinot but nothing distinctive on which to hang your hat. $42.00

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. Until I had the recent TheGulch/Estate Drew Pinot, I was ready to give up on Jason's Pinots. That wine was the best Drew Pinot I can recall having. This Pinot was back to the same old/same old. It was not a bad Pinot...just not very thrilling and not a whole lot distinctive about it. OTOH, I like his Syrahs quite a lot.
