WTN: Drew PinotNoir Estate '14..(short/boring)

by TomHill » Tue Nov 22, 2016 1:33 pm

Tried this new arrival last night:
1. DrewVnyds PinotNoir Estate/TheGulch MendoRidge (13.3%; www.DrewWines.com) Elk 2014: Med.color; very strong deep/black cherry/black cherry cola/earthy/almost Syrah-like/blackberry light toasty/oak bit Burgundian beautiful/complex nose; lightly tart very spicy/GWT-like/hair oil very strong black cherry cola/black cherry/very spicy slight herbal/earthy light toasty/oak beautiful flavor w/ modest ripe/structured tannins; very long/lingering strong black cherry cola/Pinot/cherry/black cherry very spicy light earthy/Burgundian light toasty/oak/smokey finish w/ some ripe/smooth tannins; shows more depth & richness than most AndersonVlly Pinots and almost Syrah-like in intensity, but speaks strongly of Pinot; shows great depth & structure and should go out at least 10 yrs. $51.00

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. This is Jason&Molly's first Pinot off their Estate vnyd high up on MendocinoRidge and just a stone's throw from the Pacific. This is the best Drew Pinot that I can recall and better than most AndersonVlly Pinots that I've had. Killer Pinot.
