2014 Bevan Cellars Ontogeny - USA, California, Napa Valley, Oakville (11/15/2016)Not the sort of wine that is normally in my wheelhouse, but Russell Bevan is a friend, so I figured I would try it. Wow is this impressive in a modern Napa sort of way. The fruit is huge but never jammy, and the palate is all silk. It goes against just about everything I normally look for, but is downright compelling. I kept going back to it. Wowee!
