1. Proidl: This is a producer I'd never heard of. They were located a hlf block away from our B&B
(Gastehaus Leopold-Janu) in Senftenberg, just North of Krems. They are imported into the US by VolkerWines/
SoilAirSelections. We just walked in and one of the Proidl daughters hosted us at the tasting bar and chatted
with us awhile. She's taking marketing at Univ.of Krems and was a very good spokesperson for Proidl. We tasted
thru about 5 wines and I liked this one the best, though they were all first rate.

Will add that name to my mental list of good Austrian wines; I've not heard of them before either.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

That is funny, I stayed at the same hotel when I was in that area, and walked down the road to visit Priodl as well. I had a very memorable tasting there, with the winemaker's/owner's wife giving me a wonderful, warm tasting, including popping a 1999 GV when I asked how these wines age. I saw they were highly rated in the Austrian wine guide published by Peter Moser, so I thought I'd give them a try. Good to see you were not disappointed either!

I hope you had a chance to go down the road in the other direction to visit Nigl as well.

Yup, John.....walked down the road the other direction (much longer walk....didn't know to cut up to the church
& back down the other side of the hill) to visit at Nigl. Met MartinNigl briefly. His Dad was pouring behind the bar &
we had a very nice visit. Bought a TBA there that was excellent.
