1. Salzl Seewinkelhof Pannoterra (Barrique; 13.5%; http://www.Salzl.At; trocken; Zweigelt/Merlot/CabSauv) Illmitz/Burgenland 2008: Very dark color w/ light bricking; very strong boysenberry/blackberry/licorice some smokey/toasty/oak bit
earthy/loamy fairly complex nose; soft rich/lush very strong boysenberry/black cherry cola/licorice some pungent/
toasty/charred/oak some loamy/earthy complex flavor w/ light ripe/bit bitey tannins; very long boysenberry/black
cherry/licorice some charred/toasty/oak earthy/loamy rather complex finish w/ light ripe tannins; one of the best
mature Zweigelts I've had despite the Merlot therein; reminds a lot of an oaked ContraCosta Mourv.

1. Best I can tell, this producer is not imported into the US. Ordered off the Dorfschenke Heuriger wine list.
Robert & Herta's facorite heuriger. Making wine since 1467. I've not followed them from the very start.
