WTN: 2014 Sunier Beaujolais

by Patchen Markell » Fri Sep 30, 2016 4:35 pm

Julien Sunier 2014 Fleurie.

Medium color and body, strongly floral bouquet with the palate turning smoothly toward fresh, tart red fruit; just enough mineral and even tannic crunch on the back end to keep it focused. Vivid, impeccably balanced. This is showing very nicely now but has some aging potential too. It's been too many months since I opened Sunier's 2014 Morgon, so I can't make a specific comparison, but so far, he's 2 for 2: I'm sold.
cheers, Patchen

Great producer IMO. Though unfortunately prices are rising now that others find out that he's on par with the great established names. :)
I don't drink wine because of religious reasons ... only for other reasons.
