A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. I've been a member of Prima's IlConsorzio club from the very start. Sometimes the wines don't do much for me, sometimes Frank hits 'em outta the park. These two are the latter (selected by Frank's partners in crime)...with the other the Bedrock OldVine Zin, which I know is superb.
The Chard came from right outside the Mersault AC boundaries. I was fairly impressed w/ it for the $$'s. A crisp/bracing acidity w/ an underlying richness that's deceiving.
The Popolo is a blend that comes from SummerWolf of Indie Wines. She has a very interesting portfolio (
www.IndieWineries.com) that I would love to taste more of. Wish they were available here in NM. I may try to visit two of her producers in Croatia in a few weeks.
